I graduated in Data Science from City University of Hong Kong in 2024. Since then, my day job has been about getting complex systems deployed, connected, and working properly in production.

Test & Integration Engineer

Tidalis · December 2024 to present

I work on Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) systems for international ports. These systems bring together radar, AIS, and other sensor data so operators can monitor vessel traffic.

  • Deploy and integrate Linux-based MaritimeControl systems, including sensor and SCADA components.
  • Build Grafana dashboards for system health and vessel traffic metrics, plus automated maintenance and health checks.
  • Investigate production failures using logs, track issues in Jira, and coordinate fixes with product teams and vendors.
  • Verify patches in a test environment, then on one production node before rolling them out more widely.
  • Deploy the cloud-native MaritimeControl Service Suite Edition on AWS, with Kubernetes managed through Rancher.
  • Take part in rotating on-call support for client systems.

This is integration and deployment work within a wider team. My part is making sure the components work together and that a change is actually ready to reach production.

Co-founder

Twinight Limited · February 2023 to 2025 · Company closed

I co-founded a small fintech business during university, building automated FX trading software for a small group of clients.

I built MT4/MT5 expert advisors with execution logic, spread and trading-hours filters, position sizing, and client-facing logs and statements. I also handled the practical side: monitoring the terminals, investigating execution problems, and supporting the people using the software.

We eventually closed the company because of the operational overhead. I’ve continued building trading systems independently, now mainly around prediction markets.
